Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Sam Foti joined The MONY Group Inc. in 1994, after having years of experience in the financial service industry backed up with good educational qualifications. He has ever since transformed business processes at the company and single-handedly revised company strategies. He is overlooking company operations, sales, and finances, and also handling subsidiaries.

Samuel J. Foti has restructured distribution, the product mix, and the Information Technology processes at the company. Many of the Group’s subsidiaries also report to him. One such subsidiary is the Enterprise Capital Management, founded in 1997 and based in Toronto, Ontario. The firm uses long/short equity strategy for its investments. For its portfolios it employs a risk arbitrage approach. The firm also acquires voting positions and board seats in the invested companies, depending upon the situation.

Besides other accomplishments,  Samuel Foti   oversaw the creation and expansion of the company’s Enterprise Strategies group. This enabled the company to distribute through wholesalers and led to the transformation of MONY’s distribution network. He also successfully implemented a strategy to reposition the company’s investment portfolio by reducing the exposure to mortgage loans and up gradation of management of the equity real estate portfolio.

Belt Conveyors Having Edge over Roller Conveyors

Friday, September 18th, 2009

These days, conveyor systems can be found in almost every industry. They are of different types. Amongst those, conveyor belts and roller conveyors are most commonly used.

Conveyor belts are frequently used because of their adaptability and being economical. They mainly consist of two pulleys and a rotating belt. Products are placed on the belt. Pulleys make the belt move and thus the products placed on it are also moved forward. As the belt is smooth, so, packages of all shapes and sizes, regular or irregular, huge or small can be transported easily. The length of these conveyors varies from a few inches, as in checkout counters in the super markets, to several kilometres, as, in airports baggage handling sections.

Whereas, roller conveyors make the packages move by the rotation of rollers. They are mostly used for transmitting large and smooth edged packages having less risk of falling or being caught between the rollers. Packages are placed on the rollers directly, whose rotation make them move forward. Because of the simplicity of installation and less spare parts they are low cost consuming. So, must be preferred by organizations having relatively bigger products, nicely packed in cartons etc.

Besides other products Cornerstone automation systems (CASI) is also famous as an expert conveyor manufacturer, producing variety of conveyor systems.

Team Building Workshop

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Team building is crucial to the success of any organization that uses teams to complete tasks and projects. Organizations must hold training sessions to teach team members about how business team dynamics works within a team. Team building training is the responsibility of businesses, while learning about teamwork is the responsibility of team members. If businesses don’t provide regular team work training, they can’t expect teams to succeed at achieving goals and objectives. It’s in every organization’s best interest to provide every employee with training through a teamwork seminar.

Team building seminars educate team members in several ways. These workshops train individual employees on how they can work collaboratively with others. These are some of the key points that are usually covered in a quality team building workshop:

·    What is a team and why are teams formed?

·    How are teams important to the organization?

·    How do team memebers work together?

·    How are decisions made within a team?

·    Why is team communication so important?

Team building workshops not only educate team members, but they motivate them, as well. After attending a team building workshop, employees feel positive about teamwork and the possibilities it involves. They have the skills to work collaboratively and they feel empowered as a result. This is one of the biggest advantages of holding regular team building workshops.
